No Win No Fee Explained
We operate on a No Win, No Fee basis — meaning if your claim is unsuccessful, you won’t owe us anything. Should your claim be declined, Hidden Commission will assess the outcome and, if appropriate, submit an appeal to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) at no extra cost to you under the same No Win, No Fee agreement. If your claim is successful, a percentage of any compensation received will be charged as our fee. This fee structure may involve a share with any introducers who were part of the process. We do not require payment of our fees before your lender releases any funds. If the funds are sent directly to you, payment of our fees is expected within 10 working days. If we receive payment on your behalf, your refund will be sent within 2 business days, minus our agreed fee. If you have arrears with your lender, any compensation may be used to reduce your debt. In that case, our fee will need to be paid from your own funds. If you’re unable to pay, please contact us to discuss your options. You may cancel at no cost within 14 days of signing your agreement. After this period, a cancellation fee may apply. If an offer has already been made by your lender, we will charge in line with our No Win, No Fee terms. If you cancel after 14 days, we reserve the right to charge £50/hour (including VAT) for work done up to that point. If a payment remains unpaid after 21 days, we may apply a £50 administration fee, pass on third-party collection costs, and apply interest on the overdue amount.
Please note: You are not required to use a claims management service. You can make a complaint directly to the lender or the appropriate Ombudsman free of charge, or seek legal advice elsewhere.
At the outset of your claim, your solicitor will explain all potential fees and deductions clearly, so you know exactly what to expect in the event of a win. If you don’t already have legal expenses cover—often included in some home or car insurance policies or through certain credit cards—your solicitor may arrange a dedicated insurance policy on your behalf. This policy ensures your claim remains risk-free.
